1. Focus and Purpose

You need to make sure your campaign is focused and that your purpose and goal:

  • What goal do you want to achieve?
  • When do you want to achieve this goal?
  • Can my community help me achieve this goal in that time period?

2. Have a long term goal

The funds collected are not your final goal. You should clearly know how the financial goal of your campaign is going to affect the long term goal of your campaign.

  • What is the goal of your campaign?
  • What must be contributed for your campaign to be successful?
  • What would success look like a year after the campaign ends?

3. Campaign under a group

Consider creating your campaign under a group. With a group, you’ll benefit from the different skills of different people reducing the individual workload. This increases your marketing reach, campaign updates and reward distribution. This also adds credibility to your campaign. Find out which people you would want to be in the group and make sure they have signed up for Akabbo and have a vested interest in seeing the campaign successful.

4. Your first contributors

Look at your community and count the first people who you can count on to contribute. These people you know will be the first who will fund and give your campaign the momentum it needs to encourage others to contribute. Reach out to these people through email, SMS and social media to make sure that they know that your campaign has started and where to find it on Akabbo.
