Red Card

A Red Card is a term used in various sports, most notably in soccer (football), to indicate a severe infraction of the rules. When a referee shows a red card to a player, it signifies that the player has committed a serious foul, such as violent conduct, using offensive language, or receiving a second yellow card in the same match, which results in an automatic expulsion from the game. The player who receives a red card must leave the field immediately and cannot be replaced, leaving their team a player short for the remainder of the match. Additionally, the player may face further disciplinary action, such as a suspension for subsequent games. The red card serves as a means to maintain discipline on the field and uphold the integrity of the sport. Red cards are also used in other contexts, such as in certain games and competitions, to indicate disqualification or a serious penalty.
