Twilight

Twilight refers to the time of day when the sun is below the horizon, resulting in a gradual transition from daylight to darkness. This period is characterized by a dim, soft light and is divided into three phases: civil twilight, where there is enough light for most outdoor activities; nautical twilight, when the horizon is still visible at sea; and astronomical twilight, which is the point at which the sky is dark enough for astronomers to observe celestial bodies without interference from sunlight. Twilight occurs in the early morning before sunrise and in the evening after sunset, influenced by the Earth’s rotation and atmospheric conditions. The term is often associated with themes of ambiguity, transition, and the ephemeral nature of light. Additionally, “Twilight” is popularly known as a cultural reference to a series of books and films that explore themes of romance and supernatural elements. However, its primary meaning pertains to the natural lighting phenomenon.
